Doug Gould, President and Director of PublicVoice

Doug is the President of Douglas Gould and Company, a communications firm that helps progressive not-for-profit organizations and foundations use the most effective communications tools to advance important causes. As President, he serves as the senior strategist, involved in planning and overseeing all accounts and concentrating on opinion and media research, message development, training, and the timely application of problem-solving and crisis management strategies. In addition, he has authored Talking Population and Talking about Learning Disabilities, compendiums of opinion research and advice on communicating effectively, and A Funders Guide to Successful Media Investments, which was widely distributed in the U.S. foundation community. Doug was previously Vice President for Communications at Planned Parenthood Federation of America as well as Associate Executive Director of Planned Parenthood in New York City.

Jennifer Hahn, Vice President of PublicVoice

Jennifer is the Vice President/Principal of Douglas Gould and Company. Jennifer leads the firm’s Education and Youth practice, where she oversees strategies and campaigns to reform public education, improve college access and success, and implement social policies that benefit children, youth and families. She is a leader in strategic planning, messaging, spokesperson training, capacity building for grantees and clients, as well as the management of media advocacy campaigns. Jennifer previously worked with Girls Incorporated, a national youth organization and Thirteen/WNET, the nation’s flagship public television station serving the New York area.

Meg Bostrom, Board Member of PublicVoice

Meg is President of Public Knowledge, a communications research organization that has researched public opinion and analyzed communications strategies on a variety of social issues, including the environment, children's issues, foreign policy, health care, and the working poor. Meg is a veteran communications strategist with a unique perspective resulting from her rich and varied experiences as communicator, public opinion analyst, advertising agency executive, and political consultant. Meg started her career as a political pollster: Senior Analyst at Greenberg Lake, Vice President at Mellman Lazarus Lake. More recently, she served as Executive Vice President of Strategic Planning at Trahan, Burden and Charles, an advertising and communications agency headquartered in Maryland. A Chicago native, she received her bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois, graduating with honors, and holds a master's degree in public opinion research from the University of Connecticut.

Geoffrey Knox, Board Member of PublicVoice

Geoffrey Knox is president of Geoffrey Knox & Associates, a consulting firm that creates communications strategies on social and political issues for non-profit organizations at the local, national and international level. The firm focuses on communications that educate and mobilize the public, attract supporters, influence policymakers, and enhance recognition for an organization, with significant expertise in the areas of women’s reproductive health and rights, child welfare reform, and HIV/AIDS. Clients include, among others, the International Women's Health Coalition, Children's Rights, Ford Foundation, Alan Guttmacher Institute, National Sexuality Resource Center, Catholics for a Free Choice, and Gay Men's Health Crisis. Geoffrey previously created and directed the first communications efforts at The Vera Institute of Justice and The New York City Campaign Finance Board. He also served as Director of Communications at Gay Men's Health Crisis and at the American Foundation for AIDS Research.

Tim Lannan, Board Member of PublicVoice

Tim Lannan is President of Tim Lannan Consulting, a firm that helps clients explore organizational priorities and determine how to position their organizations for success in the dynamic environments in which they operate. As an organizational development consultant, he has more than 25 years' experience in all aspects of not-for-profit management and governance and considerable skill in the design and facilitation of group gatherings that promote thoughtful discussion of critical issues. Previously, Tim served for eight years as a senior executive at Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA). Tim received a masters degree in Organization Development from AU/NTL (American University/NTL Institute for Applied Behavioral Science).
